Licensed Professional Counselor, LPCShe is a wife and mother who is passionate about enriching the lives of people in the urban core especially as it pertains to self-care and mental health.
Latoya began practicing in 2013 as a therapist at MOCSA where she specialized in trauma and sexual abuse. In 2015, she became a registered play therapist. In addition, she took up level 2 EMDR training, a psychotherapy treatment designed to alleviate stress from post-traumatic memories. During this training, she centered her studies on Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) with the goal of helping children, teenagers, and their caregivers work through distressing events.
Latoya is also well-versed in the Thinking for a Change Curriculum designed for incarcerated individuals.
She is currently serving people in recovery from drugs and alcohol abuse with adults.
